The decision was made early on to modify the true anatomy of the human skull to include a permanent frown, increasing the viciousness of Grim even more!

The decision was made early on to modify the true anatomy of the human skull to include a permanent frown, increasing the viciousness of Grim even more!

Grim Prix, a mysterious character bearing remarkable resemblance to the Racer character, the same person? An apparition? His origins are steeped in the unknown. A character that appears periodically and when you least expect it in DeadEnd, Grim stalks the racers across all the tracks in the dead of night.

Another character I had the privilege to build for VScape studios. This time they wanted a ghostly racer character complete with a skull inside the helmet. With specific instructions to recycle the Racer's equipment and gear, the challenge was to thin the Racer's anatomy out entirely and introduce the 'gaunt' look into his figure, so much so as to include small 'Alpha-map' rips in his gear to see the exposed bone beneath his suit, and a brand new suite of texture & colour changes. The green glowing effect was a simple Fresnel and Panner material I built in UE4 to permanently highlight him as he appeared on the track in darkness,
