FBI Special Agent Erin Collins

A short turntable video using a placeholder idle animation. It's a little rough around the edges, but works :)

Realising Erin entirely in UE4 means exclusive material setups and very sadly no Marmoset rotate-y thing!!

As per usual with the survival-horror setting, it's unrealistic to have a totally clean face after clambering around for your life! So, there's a 'grungy' face texture as well!

Psst... Not having the luxury of scan data, I opted to create a new headmesh and face that would resemble a merging of Jill Valentine from Resident Evil and Juli Kidman from The Evil Within!

Raw Zbrush sculpts of her previous outfit and design and her unused / outdated headmesh & hair, replaced with the current head & hair meshes to the right of the image.

Unused colour schemes and items. Her harness was initially made to resemble FBI SWAT uniform colours, and there's an 'earpiece flashlight' which I thought to include as a light source but it was too ugly to make the cut!

Special Agent Erin here marks the end of an extensive R&D project into pushing my realistic character skills even further beyond my last character for Black Tears: Alice. After playing through the superb Resident Evil 2 Remake and drooling over the amazingly-modeled characters, I felt I needed to do my best and try to match their visual fidelity with one of my own, so I took a supremely close look at how Epic's wonderful Paragon characters were created and poured all the fruits of that labour into Erin, including realising her entirely in UE4 and skipping Marmoset Toolbag altogether this time!

Erin Collins's place in Black Tears is more of an epilogue to the story, coming in towards the end of the adventure, Erin and a local detective journey into the flash-flood-stricken north-western town of Halewood, to uncover what happened to her investigation team that was sent in only days before and if possible; uncover the mystery leading to the disappearance of hundreds of citizens.
