This was the first time making a racing helmet of any kind and I thought it turned out pretty well to showcase it on its own! The logo band at the top of the visor was later dropped and the yellow tint, changed to either orange or black!

The enigmatic Racer character is a portion of freelance work I've had the pleasure to work with VScape studios on their project: DeadEnd. Their aim was to combine the essential silhouette of a racing driver with the sleek and mysterious guise of more versatile; motorcycle gear, resulting in a character steeped in ambiguity from both a visual and narrative standpoint; perfect for a game that consolidates the two genres of racing and horror.

Despite being a 20 year+ veteran of driving simulators, it was a great pleasure to finally have the opportunity to create a driver and wrestle with the challenge of dealing with a hard-surface helmet, designing and selecting livery and colour schemes for the suit based on provided concept art, and of course; rigging & weighting the character ready for thumb-blistering racing.
