Fan Remaster: Regina

Reggie's face was a point of contention for the longest time as her appearance changes so drastically between both games and CGI / artwork it took a long while before I settled on this look.

I played with a few angles to get a more 'dramatic' shot for her various poses.

I spent a lot of time trying to get the skin's 'specularity' to look just right, she's been in some action, so I wanted to reflect that as realistically as possible with the shine and sweat on her skin.

Like before, Reggie's exclusive to UE5 so no rotate-y thing again! However, here's a video to give you an idea of how she would look, moving around in-game! Albeit with my limited rigging / animation skills.

Photo-bombed once again by that pesky little raptor!

Like most of my characters, ol' Reggie finds herself in a life-or-death situation so by default, her face is a little scuffed up, but there is of course; a fully-clean version too!

The rather controversial changes to her overall outfit / equipment. Rendered in Substance Painter.

It was important to give Regina something to hold in her hands, both of a 2-handed and single-handed variety. Rendered in Substance Painter.

Regina's suit design was rather easy to put together, her face however; was a constant re-work all the way upto release! Rendered from Zbrush.

After Regina herself was completed, I felt it was very important to pose her in this iconic corridor seen in the first few sections of the game; it was one of the scarier parts of the game for me personally.

And as part of Reggie's demands; the equally iconic outside yard with the chain-linked fence and guard post HAD to make an appearance as a backdrop, even if rather rudimentarily-made with Megascans and Unreal Marketplace assets.

It was a 10-year old me when Dino Crisis first made that everlasting impression on me as one of gaming's most unique survival-horror experiences; most of all, one of CAPCOM's most iconic characters ever: Regina!

Though the franchise has remained alarmingly quiet in the last decade or so, I've always wanted to pay homage to this incredibly special character by making my take on what a 'remastered' version of Regina could look like today; not in a manner that's a '100% faithful recreation' of her PS1 model, but in the same style as Leon, Claire, Jill and Carlos received in their superb remakes.

It's been a long journey of stop and start alongside freelance work and a day job but Reggie's timing matched perfectly with UE5's Early Access release! So, please enjoy my take on one of CAPCOM's most iconic women; redesigned for modern graphics and all rendered in-engine unless specified otherwise!

Needless to say; I do not own any of the property rights to Regina or Dino Crisis and this is strictly a piece of fan-made content. All rights belong to CAPCOM Co., Ltd.
