Full-body renders. Alice's clothing maintains a constant state of wetness due to the nature of the game. Her clothes never fully dry in-game as represented here.
Torso & Face renders.
An image to explain the various player states. Far left: No colour with damage, ready for unlockable skin variants. Middle: Bone dry with damage (un-achievable) Right: During rainfall with damage. Due to story reasons there is no 'undamaged' Alice.
A high-resolution screenshot of Alice in-engine. My only issue now is how her hair appears and I believe it's largely due to issues at a mesh level. I plan to try and fix this with another character in the future and retroactively implement improvements.
I always like to include in-game screenshots as proof of the final visuals, this was taken from a print-screen of a Preview window inside the UE4 Editor.
Some close-up screenshots of Alice in-engine.
As the hoodie & jeans were re-purposed from her previous design, only the Denim Jacket and Boots were newly sculpted for her new design.
I know what you're thinking! This is the 3RD TIME I've done this character! However! I decided to revisit this character as I simply felt her silhouette lacked any real uniqueness and she appeared too generic for the player character.
I added an additional clothing layer with a denim jacket that makes her feel more like a main protagonist and improves her outline. I re-worked all aspects to improve the overall visual quality, including her face, hair and clothing textures. I also made major improvements to her rig resulting in a significant animation improvement in-game. She has a UE4 shirt because... well she's in a UE4 game! And I have yet to finalise a proper t-shirt design for her, don't worry - I plan to change the shirt later!
I also plan to later upload screenshots and videos explaining how I built her materials in UE4 if anyone is interested! :)
